What to Expect for Your Dog or Cat’s Surgery

Before taking your dog or cat into surgery, our veterinary team needs to take preliminary measures to ensure that it will be safe to put them under anesthesia. We require that all pets undergo pre-anesthetic testing to check blood cell count and look for other possible underlying issues.

Our surgical suite and equipment are sterilized according to AAHA standards. Every procedure we perform in our animal hospital is performed to meet or exceed these standards. All pets are closely monitored by one of our experienced veterinary technicians. They’ll monitor your pet’s EKG, blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate.

In recovery, your pet will likewise be monitored closely and kept comfortable with warm blankets. We will contact you when they are ready to go home, and we’ll discuss home care instructions when you arrive for pick-up.
